Woodland at a glance

Woodland is a multiplayer survival RPG. Gather resources, fight creatures, build a base, improve gear, explore biomes, fish, enter Deepstone Cave, defeat bosses and survive world events.

Core loop

• Gather: trees, rocks, plants and ore provide materials.
• Gear up: craft tools, weapons and armor, then enchant useful equipment.
• Explore: biomes, boss zones, the cave, structures and hidden resources.
• Survive: manage HP and stamina, use food, avoid dangerous enemies and use campfires.
• Progress: gain XP, unlock stronger recipes and build toward late-game gear.

Controls

Mobile

Drag the left joystick to move. Use the right-side buttons for attack, gather, skill, dash and use/interact. Tap the hotbar to change what you are holding.

Combat

• Aim before attacking. Weapon reach, speed, damage and special ability differ by weapon.
• Watch stamina: sprinting, dashing and many weapon skills consume it.
• Use movement to avoid attacks instead of standing still.
• Bosses have special behavior and can enter stronger phases.

Crafting & building

Crafting is server-validated. Recipes can require your level and a nearby station such as a workbench, furnace, enchanting table or fire. Build walls, doors, floors, chests, stations, spikes and torches. Hold a building and press Q/T (or tap ↻ on mobile) to rotate it before placing. Crystal tools are stronger axe and pickaxe upgrades, and Auto Miner Bots continuously mine nearby ore.

Enchanting

Select an eligible item in your bag, open Enchanting, and spend the required materials/XP. Enchantments have levels, costs and conflicts.

Fishing

Equip a fishing rod and use it at water. Different catches have different rarity. Rare fish can be useful for progression.

Deepstone Cave

The cave is a separate dangerous area with its own generated layout, ores and enemies. Find the entrance and use the interaction control to enter or leave.

Void: craft a Void Portal from rare materials. The Void is a separate 60,000 × 60,000 dimension with corrupted terrain, Void Rift resources and exclusive enemies.

Bosses & events

World bosses spawn in named zones and have unique drops. World events temporarily change gameplay across the world. Watch the boss/event banners and map for warnings.

Progress & saves

XP comes from combat, gathering, crafting and quests. Your inventory, gear and progression use a persistent save token so reconnecting can restore your character.

Multiplayer

Use chat to communicate. Squads let up to four players group together, invite exact player names, transfer leadership and leave the squad.

First 5 minutes

1. Enter your name and press ENTER WORLD.
2. Move with WASD or the mobile joystick and find nearby trees, rocks and plants.
3. Press E near a resource to gather it.
4. Open Crafting and make your first tool/weapon from the available recipes.
5. Put useful gear on the hotbar with the inventory controls.
6. Use your weapon to fight safe nearby creatures and collect drops.
7. Eat food when you need HP and stay near your campfire when healing is available.
8. Build a workbench/furnace when you have the materials for better equipment.
9. Explore outward only after you have enough food, tools and a weapon.

How to get stronger

1. Gather basic materials.
2. Upgrade tools and weapons.
3. Gain XP and unlock higher tiers.
4. Mine better ores in dangerous areas.
5. Smelt ores at a furnace.
6. Enchant your best equipment.
7. Try fishing, the cave and boss zones.

Don't know what to do?

Look at your crafting menu first. If a recipe is locked, its level/station requirement tells you what to work toward. If you are unsure where to go, explore the nearest new biome and watch the minimap.

Quick troubleshooting

• Not moving? Release and re-grab the joystick or tap a movement key again.
• Sliding? The server now stops movement if input is lost, and movement prediction is reconciled smoothly.
• Can't craft? Check materials, level and the required nearby station.
• Can't gather? Equip the appropriate tool and move closer to the node.
• Can't fish? Equip the rod and stand at valid water.
• Can't place? Select a building item, aim at a valid location and use F/mobile USE.
• Low HP? Eat food, use available healing and avoid stronger mobs until recovered.
• Inventory full? Move items to storage, use materials, or drop something you do not need.
• Reconnect? The game uses your saved token to restore your character when supported by the deployment's persistent storage.

Understanding the HUD

• Top-left: level, XP, HP, stamina and combat stats.
• Top-right: minimap and leaderboard.
• Bottom: hotbar.
• Left/bottom: chat and squad controls.
• Boss/event banners appear when major world activity happens.

Rarity

Higher rarity equipment generally has stronger stats. Do not assume a rare weapon is better for every situation: range, attack speed, ability and playstyle matter too.

Need help from another player?

Use chat, invite them to your squad, and explore together. Four-player squads are especially useful for dangerous areas and bosses. Pets can be managed from the PETS tab.
